Black Friday Madness!

I've heard about Black Friday for many years. I've always said that I want to go to one, but after seeing the madness that's happening over here in the UK with it, I don't like the idea so much any more.
People going crazy for a TV that gets some money knocked off, or games consoles for that £50 cheaper.

Why are people going crazy for it?

Why are us Brits getting sucked into so many Americanised traditions? Admittedly I've always wanted to celebrate Thanksgiving, and do many of the American "holidays" but when it all comes down to it; I like the British versions of our holidays. Although yes, we have Bank Holidays and all, but Black Friday?

Amazon, have been doing week long deals in preparation for Black Friday and I have been one of the suckers that fell for it. But I'm a student. I still have to get Christmas presents too! But I have been shopping around more than I possibly did last year.

I've already gone through the sales at Toys r us, waaay back before all of this.
I bought my Christmas wrapping paper at the 99p store.
I've stocked up on deals from Amazon.
I've even bulk bought stuff from Ebay as well!

I think most "normal" people forget their dignity when they rush into supermarkets like Tesco, and Asda, forgetting that these deals, WILL ALWAYS come back round after Christmas and in the new year as well. They always do deals throughout the year as well to get rid of stock!
But this whole violence to grab a TV or a PS4 is ridiculous. Pushing older ladies or men to grab the item they're holding is pathetic.
You wouldn't do that on a normal shopping day, so why would you do it any other day?

So please England. Pick up your dignity from the floor, and show some respect. It doesn't matter if you don't get that item for £50 cheaper. Shop around and you would anyway!

Freckles Rock!

Most of my life I have hated the fact that I have freckles. But I have now grown to love them.
Yes, during the summer when my face catches a lot of sun, my freckles decide that its time to come out and play.
Admittedly they are a pain, especially if I'm going out and I want to wear foundation, my freckles still come through and I just think to myself why do I bother.

I love my freckles. I love people who have freckles. It's the one thing that some people have, and some people don't. It's the smallest imperfections that make us perfect in our own unique way.

If you have freckles and you hate them; don't. They are what makes your face stand out in the crowd. Even if you want to hide them, you know you can't. They are a part of you, and remember; people will love you for being you. Freckles and all!

What I'm watching

I have been watching far too much on Netflix. I have been trying to work on my dissertation and my final projects for university.
So any time I haven't been working on university projects or even working at my job, I have been trying to get some down time for myself, as one, you don't want to stress yourself out at a time like this, and two, you need to have breaks every so often from the stresses of everyday life!

My top watches for my netflix are:

American Horror Story,
House
Tangled
Breaking Bad
& Skint

But as I share my Netflix account with my housemates, they watch some random stuff on my profile, and I end up losing track of what I have been watching. Although they all have their own profiles on my account, they still somehow use mine and I then get random suggestions, from stuff they have watched. I do question what they have been watching.

So according to my Netflix recently watched list:
The Office
Gossip Girl
Fresh meat
The Inbetweeners
Luther
Dexter
You Dont mess with the Zohan
Zoolander.

I approve of 2 on the latest list; Luther and Dexter.

 Cheers guys.

Benefit of being ill

No-one likes being poorly. I know I hate it. But the benefit in being poorly is that when you're laying in bed, feeling sorry for yourself while the world carries on without you, it is the perfect time to catch up on reading, drawing or even seeing what the latest styles are.

I recently downloaded onto my phone (Yes, my phone is my baby, you may see how many times I reference my phone in this blog) the kindle app. Although I already had iBooks, (yeap you guessed it, I'm an apple) I didn't want to pay £5.99 for a 300 page book that I knew that if I got it from Waterstones, would most likely still be sitting on my shelf waiting to be read.

So I had a look on good old Amazon for some kindle books, and most of the books I downloaded were in fact free, or in particular one set of books which cost me 1p. 3 books for 1p. That to me screamed like a bargain. There were a couple of sets of books which I stumbled across which were free. I do love me some bargains, so naturally, they have been downloaded and stored onto my kindle cloud.

The e-books that I am currently reading are:
- The Allegra Biscotti Collection by Olivia Bennett

- Totlandia by Josie Brown
- Fresh Doubt by Eva Hudson

Yes I know what you're probably thinking. How on earth does she read 3 books at once and keep up with the story line?
The answer is simply, I've done it for years. I don't know how I do it. Sometimes I'll be reading one book and put it down on my bedside table, completely forget about it, and then a month later, pick it back up remembering exactly what has happened and where I am. I don't understand it either, but it's pretty handy!

Seventeen Collection By Boots

Lately I have been obsessing over Seventeen, a collection of cosmetics by Boots. When my MAC mascara decided that I no longer wanted to use it, I searched hi and low for something that could replace it.

With that I found Seventeen FalsifEYE HD. This mascara does exactly what it says on the tube. It maximises your lashes and gives them a false look without the glue or stickiness. I grabbed a tube in black and I ended up buying another tube so it could stay at my boyfriends house. I've never done that before with a mascara. Like, ever.
Before I bought this, I had tried various mascaras like MAC studio mascara (Cannot remember for the life of me what the full name for the mascara was, Sorry! x) and pretty much going through as many mascaras that one girl should own in her lifetime, not in a year. I was so fed up of constantly buying that when I popped into Boots, I saw that it was new in and I thought, "right, that's it. I'm trying that, and I'm going to love it." And I did. So Boots, if you're reading this, you done good.

http://photos-a.ak.instagram.com/hphotos-ak-xfa1/10623845_747521735331064_1463799259_n.jpgAnd as my trusted MAC eye-liner started to run out, I decided if the Seventeen mascara was now a new love of mine, maybe I should try the eye-liner too. Right now, I am undecided with eye-liner. The good things about Make Your Mark eye-liner is that it does create a gorgeous strong line. The bad news? The pen is so strong, it feels like it's scratching your eyelid while applying. I've been using the Make Your Mark for over a month now, and it still feels that way. I'm hoping if I keep using it, it will eventually go nice and soft like my previous MAC eye-liner did.

I have however, used MYM on a recent photoshoot on the models and whether it hurt them or not, they didn't say (Mwahahahahaaa!!) but I did actually manage to do some subtle lines with it, just to give the make up an added extra kick to the eyes.

(Don't worry, the images for that shoot will appear in a later blog, which I will either link back to this or add the photos in later.)

Hair Colour and styles!

So over the years I have had many different hair colours. All of them have been somewhat "safe" colours. The most "extreme colour" I have had, would most likely be bright orange or blonde.
As for styles. I've been super long and super short, and in between. My favourite length has been the super long as it meant that I could do any style that I wanted without limitations. With short hair however, you are limited but you can still do some gorgeous looks.

Showtime Darling!

People who are close to me and know me, know that I LOVE make-up.

My dream is to at some point in my life, is to work on films in the make-up department. I want to be the one who can help create the monsters. To create the heroes. The Villains. Everything.

I realised that I wanted to be the one to help create looks that walk on to set while watching SyFy's Face Off. The way that they were able to let their imagination run wild and create what they envisioned with a mould of a face and a large lump of modelling clay. The process was amazing to watch and what they faced through series of challenges and tasks was astounding.

So with that, I decided that, was what I wanted to do. With help and support of friends and family, this is what I have set my heart on.

Despite having sensitive skin

I want people to realise that not just the people with the tough skin, but people with the baby skin can be made over too. I also want people to realise that yes, make-up is expensive, you can do it on the cheap, and still look and feel like a million dollars.

These looks were done with make-up that cost less than £10, so anyone can do this.
Foundation: Rimmel Wake me up! (Colour Ivory)
Set with; Boots Natural Collection Pressed Powder foundation (Colour Cool)
Blush: Boots Natural Collection Blushed Cheeks (Colour Peach Melba)
Eyebrow: MUA Eyebrow Pen (Colour Brunette)
Eyeliner: Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner
Lips: Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses (Colour Timeless Tango)

Each item that was used, were less than £10. The Most Expensive items were the Maybelline gel liner at £7.99 and
Rimmel Wake Me Up Make Up Foundation at £8.99. Cheapest? MUA Eyebrow Pen at just £1!

For me this look, is pretty much my everyday look. Its cheap, affordable and is a classic for the small wing eyeliner and popped colour for the lips.
